Start a blank project and edit scenes in your existing videos.

Overview

This article shows how to remix an existing video in QuickFrame AI by isolating a moment and replacing it with a newly generated scene.

This workflow is designed for fast creative iteration. You can refresh products, swap seasonal messaging, or test new variations without reshooting your entire ad. It’s an easy way to get more value out of high-performing assets and keep your creative moving.

Use this when you want to:

  • Reuse existing footage

  • Make simple product or seasonal swaps

  • Generate new scenes around your own assets

You can follow our video tutorial or the steps below.

Before you begin

  • You must know the final length of your video, for example 15 seconds or 30 seconds.

  • The project length, scene duration, and video duration must all match.

How to replace a scene in a blank project

  1. Start a blank project.

    1. Log in to QuickFrame AI.

    2. From the left panel, under Brands, select a brand.

    3. In the upper right corner, click + Start a blank project.

    4. Choose a format and length.


      ⚠️ Warning: The length you choose must match the length of the video you plan to upload.


  2. Upload your asset and open the editor.

    1. Click + Add scene & media.

    2. Click + Add new > Upload.

    3. When the upload finishes, click the Editor tab.

  3. Adjust the scene duration.

    1. In the timeline, click Scene 1.

    2. In the right panel, click the SCENE DURATION value.

    3. Update the duration to match your selected format in Step 1, for example :15s or :30s.

  4. Adjust the video duration.


    ⚠️ Warning: The video duration can't be changed until the scene duration (Step 3) has been updated first.


    1. Click on the video.

    2. In the right panel, update the DURATION value it to match the scene duration from Step 3.

  5. Split the scene.

    1. Move the green vertical playhead to where you want the new scene to begin.

    2. Click the Split on playhead icon.

    3. Move the green vertical playhead to where you want the new scene to end.

    4. Click the Split on playhead icon again.

      The timeline now contains a middle scene that can be replaced.


      💡 Pro Tip: For more precise edits, use the right panel trimming controls to fine-tune the start and end of your clips before replacing the scene.


  6. Replace the middle scene.

    You can replace the selected scene in one of two ways:

    • Option A: Upload your own scene or asset.

      Upload a new video or image and replace the selected scene.

    • Option B: Generate a new scene from your own assets.

      This method is useful for simple swaps, such as changing product types or seasonal designs.

      1. Select the scene you want to replace.

      2. Click Generate.

      3. Choose Generate from Subjects.

      4. Upload an image.

      5. Enter a prompt and choose your cinematography settings.

      6. Click Generate.

      7. When the generation finishes, click Save video to scene.

    After inserting the new clip, adjust the scene length so it fits exactly where you want it in the timeline.

Pro Tips

  • Set the scene duration before updating the video duration.

  • The video duration can't be changed until the scene duration has been updated first.

  • Zoom in on the timeline for more precise splitting and trimming.

  • Make sure the project length, scene duration, and video duration all match before exporting.
